New Features – January 2025

VIEW

Digital Pathology
Key binding
There is a new possibility to navigate through slides using the keyboard, change zoom levels, and move within each slide with customizable keys.
Preview
In the preview panel, it is now more apparent which slides are currently open.
It is also possible to track slides that have been viewed and not viewed (visible through the eye icon near the preview). Slides that could previously be marked as viewed can now also be marked as completed.
Radiology
Opening Studies in Lossy Mode
A new option to open studies in lossy mode, where images are sent to the browser in a lossy format. In this case, the user is notified via the “Not diagnostic” label at the bottom right of the images.
Additionally, a new button will appear at the top of the screen, allowing users to enable the receipt of lossless images to work in diagnostic mode.
This feature can be enabled via a parameter in the URL or at the role level to limit bandwidth consumption.
Measurements
New tick marks on the scrollbar show where measurements have been added to a series. This feature helps users quickly return to an image with annotations.
Studylist
Previews
In the preview, it is now possible to see report previews (in PDF format) by clicking the relevant icon. For pathology exams, you can see the slide previews.
Studies on the bucket
There is a new cloud icon next to studies on the bucket. You can download a study directly from the list so that it is already available on the viewer/server’s local disk when opened. Once the download is complete, the icon will change.
New REPORTING TOOL
New columns labeled “assign to” refer to the reporting doctor. You can assign an exam to a doctor listed among the reporting users (registered users in the viewer marked as reporting users), and both text and graphic signatures can be configured by uploading a JPEG.
After assigning the study, the reporting user will see the reporting field next to the preview. In this field, they can write the report, save it as a draft, or DICOMize it and save it in the archive.
The report template is configurable.
The report includes a QR code with a link to open the viewer in second opinion mode.
The reporting doctor can filter the exams assigned to them on the study list.

PACS

Tracking Exam Acquisition Times
The PACS interface has a new tab, “acquisition reports.” A pop-up allows you to select the station names to track. The data tracks the acquisition time from the oldest to the most recent instance, providing the duration. Data export is possible.
Integrity Check
The ability to enable the integrity check of received instances with three levels has been added: none (default), soft (accepts instances but tracks them in the database), and strict (the PACS rejects instances if integrity is not verified).
The integrity in question is that which the FEED adds, if configured, to the instances forwarded to the Cloud PACS. The FEED must be configured at the node level.
This feature is important to prevent data alteration during the transition from the feed to the PACS.
